The Opus Plasma® handpiece uses fractional plasma technology. Plasma is an ionized gas, harnessed to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. The Glide Tip handpiece delivers dermal ablation with a unique in-motion technique that creates a grid of tiny, controlled microchannels in the skin. These microchannels are essentially small areas of treated and untreated skin, allowing for fractional resurfacing.
To begin, a topical numbing cream or anesthetic is applied to the treatment area for approximately 40 minutes. The complete Opus Plasma® full-face treatment typically takes 15-20 minutes. It is advisable to discontinue the use of retinoids for about a week before the procedure, and remove any jewelry during the treatment.
